Day Sixteen in Australia

Man, what a let down! I was super excited today becuase there was supposed to be a big women's football game (soccer) between Australia and Canada today but it was postponed until tomorrow because of typhoon 'Wipha'. The World Cup for Women's Football is taking place in China and I guess they were worried that the typhoon might mess with the game. Me and all the minerds were totally psyched and had a big breakfast of 'pints and prawns' (that's what they call beer and breakfast here - you don't have to eat shrimp if you don't want to but they really recommend it - I don't really get why they're so crazy about shrimp, but you know what they say! when in Rome:)) at our local pub, 'Blinky's Fags and Foxholes (that's what they call cigarettes and pint glasses here). All the guys were teasing me because I was wearing red and white in support of the ladies from the great white north. I must admit taht I've never really payed much attention to women's sports. Guy's sports are always so much faster and harder that I kind of thought to myself 'why would I care about the girls when teh guys are so much better?' Of course, I never would've said this out loud because it wouldn't be PC. But I'm starting to like girl's sports since I've been in Oz - everybody gets totally into it and not just because the girls are hot but also because they are really good athletes. so obviously we were all super bummed-out when the announcement was made that the game was postponed. I felt like killing myself.
