Day Twenty-Five in Australia

Bye bye Oz! Hello Kiwiland (that's what they call New Zealand)! I wanted to get to this beautiful country before I headed back to Montreal, because this is where my favorite movies of all time were filmed, The Lord of The Rings!!! I can't believe I'm in the Land of Gandalf. It's as magical as the movies are - there are waterfalls everywhere and beautiful views of valleys and mountains and fjiords. Basically I'm going to spend the weekend going to all the famous spots from the LOTR movies - tomorrow morning I'm going to where they shot the battle for Helm's Deep and in the afternoon I'm going to visit site they used for Bag's End - I guess some of the hobbit houses are still standing. Everyone is Kiwiland (or Middle Earth:)) is great and I even made a friend on my way from the airport. Two guys noticed how I was dressed (I'm going to wear my Gandalf outfit for the whole weekend so you guys at home probably wouldn't recognize me because I'm wearing a white robe with a white beard and I'm carrying a large twisted piece of wood with me wherever I go) and they were so blown away because it was the best Gandalf costume they had ever seen. They took me to a bar that is designed to look exactly like the bar that the hobbits drink at in The Fellowship of The Ring. While I was at the pub there was this girl there that said I looked like a cross between Vigo Mortinsen and Sean Been. Don't worry though Sarah, she looked more like a Orc than an Elf:). We ended up getting pretty drunk off 'grog' and I kind of puked all over my Gandalf beard so I'll need to get it cleaned when I get home, but for now I just rinsed it out and it should be fine.
